Excellent transmitter for the money
This little transmitter gives you a lot of bang for the buck! Range is outstanding if you get the antenna outside and up high -- a mile and a half or more. Even inside the house on the first floor I still get out a half-mile. Transmitter sounds great, IF you have a compressor/limiter in the audio line. This is a MUST! Almost all of the bad sound and distortion problems happen when you try to operate without one. I would recommend leaving it on the low power setting - much less interference, plus it will last much longer since it will be running almost at an "idle". 1 watt will give you 60% of the range that 7 watts will do. I've bought 4 of these over the years - only had a problem with one of them when the fan wouldn't work. But if you keep it on 1 watt you don't need the fan. ... It’s a headache for inexperienced technicians.
It puts out high pitched frequencies and feedback while not obtaining stereo separation because of spurious radiation that is not filtered out in its design. No stereo indicators light up, it’s just two sides.
