    These earmuffs are awesome.

    Had a cheap set of electronic muffs previously that switch off momentarily when shot fired. hence didnt get to hear impact sound when hunting (that thwack that indicates a well placed shot) or steel gong ringing at the range. These Leight ones still transmit low level sound continuously, so you do get to hear impact on target clearly. Awesome quality, excellent battery life so far. Definitely worth the extra $$$ in my opinion. Hope this helps. JD

    Howard Leight Ear Protection

    These earmuffs are quite comfortable although compared to some others I have used they let in more noise than I expected. The internal microphone is also a little noisy and scratchy sounding. I have had tinnitus all my life so I am fussy with hearing protection.

    High performance earmuffs for shooting or general work

    Earmuffs are very comfortable and narrow as well. This is vital to a fun day of shooting clays. The volume control for background noise is very effective and enhances ambient noise if required. The damping effect is super fast. When a louder sound is created the earmuffs quieten it down before you hear it. Even using something like a lawnmower becomes more pleasant as the general noise levels can be lowered (they are usually under the "cut-out" noise levels") via the volume control or switching the muffs off results in the typical 22db type earmuff performance. Overall one of the best of its kind on the market. Best I've found for shooting. No need to remove between shooting stages.

    Good, but look out for copies.

    Good build quality. Does a pretty reasonable job of filtering loud sounds while amplifying voice or TV. Only complaint is the poor quality sound from a phone/ipad/ipod to the headphones via the 3,5 jack. A new cable made it better, but stillnot great. Overall good product for the price - but look out for copies. A few tutorials out there on how to spot them.
