    Great dash cam at a great price

    I love this dash cam. So much so that I purchased a second one for my motorhome. It has everything I was looking for in a dash cam: 4k resolution, GPS, WiFi and it supports a 512GB card. The daytime resolution is great when set to 4k but it does create large files. A three minute file is about 460MB. I haven't tried driving at night so I can't comment on the resolution. The Rove app is pretty good. Allows you to see the videos using WiFi. Unfortunately you don't get to see the GPS info if the file size is too big. The Rove Windows GPS app is much better. Pop the card into the adapter and plug it in. The Windows app integrates Google Maps and as the video plays it tracks your path on the GPS screen. It also shows the date, time, speed and GPS coordinates. I haven't tried editing yet but ...

    Yes and no

    If you live in hot climate areas like Florida for example then I wouldn’t recommend this camera. The battery that this cameras provide don’t do so well with heat. And since it’s obviously on your windshield it’s going to attract a lot of heat. Had my Rove for about 6 months until I noticed that the screen was like half black because of the heat it was absorbing. This camera is good for its purpose for the time being. But will eventually fail on you especially during the summer times.

    Well worth the money and finally caught first accident

    After more than a year one finally caught first parking lot accident. I like the .mp4 file format as it was easy to edit in Linux using Shotcut. The owner of the car that was hit will be picking up the video to substantiate a claim that more damage was done than the other driver's insurance may want to pay for. What a hit! I have 2 of these. On one I had the power plug fail so now use a generic cord and plug (OK as second USP port is used to power GPS). Other than that I have been satisfied with the performance. I am recommending to the lady that owns the hit car to purchase one for her own peace of mind. I wonder what the girl will say if she views the hit her Escalade did to a RAV4?
