This book is a pictorial tribute to one of Britain's most durable and successful post-war aircraft, the English Electric Lightning. 1988 saw the type's withdrawal from service after 30 years in RAF service. Author Ian Black, himself a Lightning pilot, has produced a collection of mostly unpublished colour photographs of the aeroplane, taken throughout his long career.
