For those who don't know of this game: Buy this before you buy part 1, they're identical except this one is upgraded. This game is basically a very fun chess set. Do you like Chess or other strategy games such as Risk? Or, have you played and liked a KOEI game based on the Three Kingdoms era of China? If yes to either of those, then you will like this historically accurate strategy game. The game itself is quite complicated and has a learning curve of about 3 or 4 hours. This game is definitely for thinkers who will enjoy building a kingdom, gathering officers, setting up your characters, and then unleashing them upon the enemy. The game does tend to be overly dificult on "hard" and even "normal" mode though. For those who know of this game: Before buying this game, the first thing you should ask yourself is "did I play and like the first game". If you did play Dynasty Tactics 1 and merely liked it, don't bother with this one, if you thoroughly enjoyed the first, buy this one! DT2 has IDENTICAL graphics to the first which is depressing seeing that it was made 2 years after the first. It also has a very similar Tactics engine, but it has been thoroughly upgraded. A single officer can now create a chain on his own. Lu Bu is now available and the game story is more in-depth and interesting.Read full review
I have played this game before, however, since it was made in 2003, it has been almost impossible to find a good copy. Many copies that I've played are scratched or glitchy. If you can find a newer copy (one thats never been opened) you should be in the clear. The game itself is awesome, and I never really thought of myself as a strategy type of game player. Dynasty Tactics 2 takes Koei's Dynasty Warriors series in a new direction. You are now able to command the forces under your control. Each unit in a force has strengths and weaknesses and you must play into your strengths and your opponents' weaknesses. If you like Dynasty Warriors, but always have wished that you could control your own forces, this game is for you. So, instead of just running around in a blind rage trying to kill all the generals before the seemingly pitiful forces under your flag get obliterated, you can sit back and enjoy the story and kick some a**.Read full review
This game is a lot of fun if you’re into a chess style strategy game. The game looks good and the characters have fluid movements when performing tactics, combos, etc. Definitely worth the buy.
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
Let me start by saying strategy games have always been my favorite genre. Dynasty tactics 2 is without question the best strategy game ever released on any video game platfrom ever. The first game was really good but all the improvments made for this game really add alot of depth. If you like strategy games you owe it yourself to try this game.
the game is good if it is what you like (strategy games). gets repetitive, and can be linear (not many options to choose), but can be fun.
