It a good substitute for the real remote.
This remote works okay and does what I want if you point it directly at the TV. For a while I thought it didn't work properly. After inspection and comparing it with my sony remote, I noted that there was a piece plastic casing covering the little bulb (sensor), after removing the plastic it worked as expected.
