Really basic, cheap plastic. No ESD foam in the tray so static sensitive parts slide around on plastic which generates static charges. There's a hole in the front of the tray, it's for a grab handle (so it appears anyhow) but there's no handle installed. This is problematic for 2 reasons. First, UV light escapes at full intensity through the hole in the tray, and it's really difficult to open the tray when it's closed without the handle.

The unit consists of a real UV tube, with some electronics soldered to it. Although it had a US plug (120V 60HZ), it works on 240V 50Hz (Europe) as well. The electrical construction is not of really high quality, but it suffices. The real dubious part is the timer: it misses a spring so when setting a delay, the dial can be maneuvered freely within the remaining time, with no real switching off (the contact doesn't have springs) so it might start hissing due to a spark gap, with potential fire hazard. When the timer finishes, it seems that the device is switched off more firmly, but my advice would be: don't leave it unattended when plugged in, or replace the timer switch if you're a handy engineer.

It gets the job done. And it's very inexpensive. But, it's clearly very low quality as well. The knob feels flimsy, there isn't any documentation. There is Chinese writing all over it. BUT, it's a very simple device, and it works as described. It erases your EPROMs. I have no complaints.

Compact and it works well. You will need to glue a static free pad on the pull-out shelf, and go to Home Depot and buy a little knob you can use to pull the drawer out, but otherwise it is a good value and works well.
