Product Information
The Civil War is an ambitious effort by Empire Interactive to capture the look and feel of the American Civil War during the period 1861-1864. The original version of the game includes a full campaign module that incorporates land, sea, rail and river maneuvers as well as four pre-set historical battles: First Battle of Bull Run/1st Manassas, Shiloh/Pittsburgh Landing, Wilson's Creek/Oak Hills and Mill Springs/Logan's Cross Roads.<br><br>You direct your army of choice, union or confederate, on a 3D rendered landscape (battlefield) by recruiting and moving armies, building fortifications (breastworks), blockading and fighting. Level of control is at the individual artillery, cavalry and infantry unit levels. Other game options allow you to build fleets and utilize railroads. The Civil War can be played against the computer or over a modem or serial link by two people in real time.
