FRG-9600 radio review
Easy to learn and use the receiver. Memory battery needs replacement after maybe 5 years. Receiver works fine with discone antenna. Telescopic antenna would not be a good choice, like any other receivers. One disappointing performance is about high local oscillator phase noise. The FM wide mode is OK but narrow mode is very noisy even with strong signals. The front end of this radio is like a TV tuner. Sensitivity varies on frequency band. Selectivity is fine in most cases.Good assembly quality makes this radio to operate for very long time.Frequency coverage is continuous which can be advantageous for specific applications.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
