Took me a bit of time settling computer up, but success, I’m not a geek, just a Mac fan, since late 80’s. So impressed at this refurb, I have one I bought in 2008, optical drive & battery dead. I bought the refurb because I love the DVD side slot. Packaging was super, each item sealed well & it arrived quickly. I highly recommend this seller. Great value, good quality, excellent appearance.

Good value for a solid switch

The 2960 is an extremely popular switch for a reason. Great feature set, no fan, very solid. At this price the value is tremendous. These are an industrial strength product with all of the goodness of their big brothers in a small form factor. This model can even do basic layer 3 routing. Mine shipped with no application code loaded - so be sure to have a console cable and know how to find a good firmware on Cisco’s web site (not as easy as it sounds), and how to load it over xmodem. The IOS12.2 version is probably the one you want. The 15 version was flakey for me on this model.

  • Cost effective smart switch

This is a professional level smart switch with years of useful life remaining. This version of the 2960 has 8 gigabit ports - not the 100 mbps fast Ethernet on some models, an advantage for our LAN. You can just plug it into your LAN an use it as a simple switch or access the console and configure the management features. Either way it is a deal.

  • Little switch with big features

This is a great little switch! It a managed switch and looks a feels like its big brothers, just with 8 ports. It evern has a SFP option for the fiber link you've always wanted. I'm replacing my cheep gigabit switches with this name brand horkhorse.

  • Fanless, powerful, and small

If you are looking for a small manageable gigabit switch to extend VLANs - whether it's for real network work or for LAN gaming - this is your best bet: silent, powerful, extensible (supports even v15 IOS code), and since it's manageable - via console, telnet/SSH, or even web interface - you can monitor, tweak, etc. to your hearts content. I use one for my entertainment console to patch back to my layer-3 core switch, and one for my main PC for a quad-port card I use for VMs. I wouldn't waste my time with bargain-basement gigabit hubs / unmanaged switches again: they just create landfill.

  • Does everything I need

This switch exactly matches my requirements. It is small, so does not take up much desk space. I don't need a large number of switchports. Also it is silent, as there is no fan. Another bonus is that it came with a relatively new IOS installed.
