Mostly good things to say about this printer
I love the way it looks, is so compact, and has great features! Like edge-to-edge printing, straight-thru-pass printing so you can use heavy stock. And can handle 11 x 17" paper! BUT, so far I have NOT been able to get it to cover all the white of the paper, or to accurately position the paper in the rear feed; 2 edges always show somewhat. Bummer. And my other main complaint, with very limited experience with it, is that it's molasses slow to begin printing. So it's a bit clumsier to work with, and more time-consuming (to work thru the menus, too), than the Canon 870 that I plan(ned) to replace it for. I DO love the price of ink that I've found on ebay, and I think the tanks won't empty nearly as quickly as the Canon.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Print quality is fine. Photo quality is ok but not great. Air print does not work right. Internet experts warned of problems and they were right. Having to turn and off every time my wife wants to print from her iPad is irritating and a waist of ink. small footprint good printer would have gotten a 5 star if..
over the years i have bought several printers as it was inexpensive to buy a new printer then to purchase ink. A new printer comes out all the time with ink thats inexpensive then the one you have and costs less to purchase the printer over the ink you need so I spent more for what i needed then to what was more cost effective - however the ink for this brother printer is cost effective and prints out more pages then other inexpensive printers out there I purchased this printer to replace an epson i had as the brother printer had a footprint 1/2 the size and no need for trays sticking out. i had recently moved to a smaller room for an office and needed the space and this printer fit the bill. it was super easy to set up as Ethernet network printer and step by step guides for mobile and wifi set up. the quality is great, the access to ink is easy to do, unlike other printers that you have to open the top to get to the inside the brother has a flip down lid on the front to easily insert and change ink cartridges. although the printing is a little bit slower than the other printers I have had but not that much, i would gladly wait 4 seconds more for all the features this has to offer over others. I would have given it a 5 star if it was a bit faster on printing and making it one of the top printers for home office out there under $200 that i have ever usedVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
