The vendor did a wonderful job of wrapping it so that it was protected while in transit. There was a chip in the lid of the dish, on the little piece that you grasp to lift the lid. I cannot say for sure whether that chip was mentioned in the description of the dish on eBay. If it was, I missed it. However, it is not that noticeable, and I have it sitting on the buffet in my entryway, and it looks beautiful.
