    A+ eBay transaction from start to finish. The dual band j-pole antenna I received is fantastic. It arrived as described in new condition and the build quality is very good, especially for the cost. It is a nice looking antenna and was easy to set up. I’m using it mounted from my two story roof at about 28’ high. A 75’ long run of lmr 400 coax connects it to my Alinco DR-735T. The antenna receives signals very well, and with 50w I now have all the range I wanted out of my vhf/uhf base station.

    The solder joints were far from completely sweated. Each joint was only 50 ro 75% fully sealed. This antenna felt like it was rushed for delivery. *However,* once the joints were fully sweated with a torch in my own garage, the SWR on 2 Meters is amazing. With an IC-2730a and some RG-8, I get 1: 1.2 SWR. Equal to any Diamond or Comet for thrice the price. 70 cm? A tolerable 1:2.2 SWR without an antenna tuner. (Seller states 70 cm will need a tuner).

    Excellent J-Pole Antenna!!

    As a new Ham I am continually amazed about the knowledge and expertise of the Ham community. A few months ago I didn't know a J pole from a telephone pole. Anyway when I saw the ingenious design of this unit I purchase it on the spot as my first antenna for my 50 watt base unit install at home for the 70cm and 2 meter band use. It transmits and receives perfectly. Very low SWR and great range. That 239 connector is precisely placed by the designer for correct tuning. Also when I connect it to my police scanner it comes alive with signals I never heard before. It still cracks me up that it is plumbing copper but it is electrically perfect and durable. Will also work in an Attic installation. KB9VBR is the man!

    Works but Nothing Special

    It arrived bent at an almost 45 degree angle. I had to bend it back into shape. For the high cost of shipping, I would have expected a better method of packaging. After I purchased the antenna, I saw that other builders sell a similar product for $30 and free shipping. It is well built and it works. I bought it to replace a 1/4 wave ground plane that I built for $1 out of scrap copper wire and a connector. The 1/4 wave seems to work a little bit better but the J-pole is more durable. At a total of $50 after shipping, I feel it is a bit overpriced. The connection is done well but I question the way it is connected. Some say that the center conductor should not be connected to the stub. I would have liked to see some weatherproofing of some sort at the connection. The SWR is 1.2 to 1.4 ...

    Good, sensitive antenna for repeater or portable use.

    This antenna comes ready to go and it resonates inside the band. The copper should last for many years. My reception tests showed that it is more sensitive within the band than my fiberglass vertical ground plane. However it loses that edge as you get further away from the band. But for amateur use within the band it is a great antenna. I highly recommend it for ease of installation or portable use. It is also a good permanent antenna for local repeaters. For the price it is a very good deal.

    Great dual band antenna!

    Hand built, very rugged, solid Copper, came to me well tuned for 2 meters. SWR also looked pretty good on 70 cm. I appreciated the spec sheet, and the discussion of antenna physics included with the antenna and the offer of additional tech help. This is a great antenna at any price but it is pretty exceptional at under $40. You really can't go wrong! .

    First Ham Antanna 2 Meter Net

    I looked a long time for my first antenna I wanted just the right one for the job the first time out of the box. You could spend a lot of money on on of these if you wanted to and not be any better than this one . It was every thing he said it would be.
