About this product

Product Information

Aging ex-quarterback Paul Blake (Scott Bakula) enrolls in college in order to fullfill his adolescent high school dream of playing college football. Unfortunately, his new team has been put on notice for violating NCAA rules, and all the veterans have been kicked out. Undaunted, Blake helps put together a team comprised of football-playing misfits and a female placekicker. In the midst of all this, he falls in love with one of the professors and must outwit the dean of the college, who is trying to cancel the football program.

    Great football movie

    Very funny yet reasonably decent football movie about a former champion yet currently troubled and underdog college football program. Assembling a new team of walk ons and has beens with only enough members to play Iron Man ball, results in funny and surprising results. The team is outclassed, and outmatched and evenn having to contend with a contrary and conniving administrator. Its Rocky all over again but on the gridiron. It's a great movie and story to enjoy. Even folks that don't appreciate football will likely get all into this one.

    Watch The Replacements instead

    I saw this movie years ago and liked it. Since then I saw The Replacements. They are very similar, and the latter is much better. I'm sorry I bought Necessary Roughness.
