    I really like the old time story lines of Gunsmoke

    I remember this TV program from childhood watching it with my Grandfather. These are the hour long episodes and are in black and white. It also seems as if they were copied from a high definition tape which I know is impossible, but the sharpness looks more like you are watching one of the daytime soaps. I guess it must have something to do with the hi def tv I watch them on. I bought this particular set because as a child I watched an episode that Doc pronounced Matt as dead (it was the first episode of a new season). I've looked for that episode for years and finally found it. The 4 DVD's played flawlessly. As all of the major actors(esses) have passed ( as well as my Grandparents) it adds a bit of nostalgia watching these disc's. Some of the story lines are a bit flakey, but ...

    great series

    We have now purchased the first 11 seasons of the series. We have enjoyed them all. Festus has become a regular character on the show. One of our favorites for sure. We look forward to purchasing season 12 in the near future. Hopefully the last 8 seasons will be available on DVD in the future.
