The only drawback for me is the lack of an on and off switch for the fan. I just don't care for that little spark when plugging in the A/C cord to the outlet because of the fan loading up. I purchased a portable GFI for the end of the A/C cord and use it as a switch. The best part is chucking the converter that my older compressor needed. This one is self contained.
