The unit is proudly Chinese but it's as thick and heavy as a SunTour or Shimano. I dismantle any cog set I buy and this one is constructed exactly the same as the others. I did add a few ball bearings but that's not unusual. I was going to use a Regina cog set but it was 5-speed and I needed 6 for the index shifter. Great buying experience.

The teeth are not cut like the original to allow positive chain derailing and rerailing. I still used the part I needed, the hub, but I had to use my old sprockets. I tried the new ones first and the shifting would never be positive with it. Often two clicks were required to make one gear. With the old sprockets this never happens.
