    OEM oil is always my first choice !

    This is the OEM oil for Sea Star boat steering systems so I would have to think this is the best of the best... I wouldn't trust an off brand oil to keep me going in the right direction when I'm cruising the Bays and local Waterways !!!

    Use what the manual says to use

    I'm not a chemist so I can't chemically compare one fluid to another; but for the slight difference in price does it make any sense that the company that makes the hydraulic system would put their name on a fluid that was anything but the BEST for their system. Would you put "CheapMart" fluid in a Bendix system? I wouldn't!

    Seastar Hydraulic Steering Fluid

    It's a bottle of the recommended hydraulic fluid for Baystar hydraulic steering systems. Cheaper thru this source than my local marina or other online sources. Not quite sure why it's so expensive. Must have a dash of unobtanium in it.That's it LOL.

    Necessary expensive item if you own a power boat. Because it's a marine produce the manufacturers think they can charge double or triple a similar non marine product costs. Sad. Not sellers fault, commercial reality.
