Get more out of your home music experience by listening to all of your tunes on the Sony STR-DE197 stereo. This music-playing beast features 100 watts and a two-channel integrated amplifier. These features provide a smooth and crisp listening experience without distortion. An LED display shows you the mode of operation, track number, and the frequency of your radio station. The front of this unit offers controls that adjust balance for the speakers, set the program type for radio stations, and move the treble and bass balance. You can even reinforce the bass by using the bass boost function for deep, pulsing sounds.Plug up to four devices into the four audio inputs for easy listening. With a headphone jack, you can easily use your cellphone or an MP3 player for all of your audio needs. If you only want to listen to the radio, use its tuner. The two-channel receiver allows you to create up to 40 preset stations. It sorts them into chronological order so that you can quickly find the music you desire. You can switch the knob on the built-in AM/FM radio tuner and find your favorite station. The antennas are included and ready to plug and play. Its tuning scale for FM is 100 KHz, and its AM tuning scale is 10 KHz. It will scan and stop once it receives a channel.The outputs for these receivers include an FM 75 ohms coaxial port. These pieces of electronics also have output ports for left and right speakers in and out. These connections have an impedance use of 8 to 18 ohms. This allows you to pair them with a wide range of home theater speakers and create a great listening experience. Audio connections are made to this Sony STR-DE197 stereo receiver with its color-coded, double-pinned cord. When the white left audio and red right audio pins are engaged, the electronics operate free of humming. Additional connections allow you to use MD/tape, CD players, amplifiers, and video. There are two video in and out ports that allow you to connect your gaming systems. You can connect this Sony STR-DE197 receiver to your TVs, Blu-ray or DVD players, or a turntable. It has a 3.5-mm jack when you want to use your headphones for a more personalized audio experience. With the headphones engaged, the speaker automatically switches sound control to the headphone jack. This Sony system also allows you to record. Recording accessories, such as tape decks, work with the video line 1 connection. You can record any signals that are playing from the video line 2 connection.Easily choose or adjust music without moving by using the included remote. The remote control uses two AA batteries and transmits digital signals from up to 30 feet away from the Sony STR-DE197 stereo receiver. The remote also allows you to adjust the sound and mode of operation. This Sony receiver comes with a detailed owner's manual. The manual explains how to connect each piece of A/V equipment. These accessories use 120 volts of alternating current for power.

    Great for running multiple amplifiers for mixed sets of speakers.

    i own 3 of these and they are reliable, clean power for basic amplified purposes. If you use tape out from one unit to tape in on another unit, you can link multiple amps. This is especially effective if you have multiple pairs of speakers of different sizes....Once you set each amp's volume (based on each set of speakers need) then you can control volume with only one remote....You can't do that with a single amp , such as a 7.1 or a 5.1 surround sound.

    Tested and Working

    The receiver does exactly what it's meant to do. I hooked it up to my speakers with wire I bought from Best Buy, and it works great! The remote functions as well. It's easy to control the volume, and I can mess with the treble, bass, and LR balance if I wanted to. I'm satisfied.

    I love these things and so now I've boug...

    I love these things and so now I've bought three. Perfect way to get around those "newer" stereos that are worthless. The Sony STR-DE197 drives my subs under the couch, it pairs nicely with my Rhodes 88 and a guitar pedal, and now it rocks the barn! Plenty of power and good audio quality. If you connect it to a smart outlet and leave the stereo "ON" - you can let the smart outlet be your power switch. It's got spare AC power for a crossover or external Bluetooth hub. Love it!

    Nice..

    This is my second one. They are easy to use and have plenty of power and also have a bass boost feature. I was lucky to find a new one. They stopped making them a few years ago.
