Nice design
Easy install. Very quiet. Needs a strong WiFi signal to work correctly. I installed an Actiontec dual band network extender (MoCa) in my garage. Problem solved. This garage door opener works with all Home Link in car wireless garage door openers. No repeaters required. My friends Liftmaster 8500 wall mount door opener would not work with his Chevy Suburban built in garage door opener. The Genie 6172-B is rated to lift 850 pounds. Much more than the competition. The drive unit mounts on the wall and takes up less space, both width and height. The installation is sped up because the wall mount control is wireless. The wall mount is battery operated. This means if the power goes out the wall mount transmitter will still work. The drive unit has a battery back up, so the garage door can still be opened and closed. Very cool. No more garage door opener hanging from the ceiling. Really opens up the garage. The wireless light can be mounted anywhere there is a 110V outlet.
