A fantastic camera, packed to the brim with cool features and things like 4K video and different aspect ratios. If you are looking for a small, light camera that does not compromise on image quality, this is it. There are a couple of things to consider though, firstly, it's by no means an easy camera to use, in terms of all the different settings and things you can do with it, so you will want to read the manual thoroughly to learn all the functions of this little beast. A little less positive is the sensor. At 12mp max, it does start to feel dated, you cannot zoom pictures too much, or crop to re-frame so it forces you to actually be careful in that regard. Te EVF is where it really lets down; it's good when its' too sunny and you really want to use it, but you'll find yourself using the screen more often than not due to the horrible colour rendition of the EVF. Overall it's a fantastic camera with a few rough edges, but to be honest I have a nikon D800 and I use this lumix more often than the Nikon due to its compactness. Read full review

This is a great, real photographers camera. If you are wanting complete pocketability or such this isn't the camera for you. It's got a great lens on it, performs really well in low light and is just a great walking around / street shooting camera. I usually have it with me for grab shots or will take it alone for a day of shooting. It has a completely silent mode which is wonderful, shoots RAW. If you like flash and use one often this may not be your camera. The flash is not built, though it works well when you need it. Controls are old school and while it's no Leica M it has a nice, quiet rangefinder feel to it. It's a thoughtful shooting camera.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC LX100 camera is a very high-quality, versatile camera for the experienced digital camera user, not the amateur. It is a bit larger and heavier than others of its type, but the images and versatility of this camera makes hauling it around with you worth the effort. Their customer support desk could/would not give me the lens front thread size for some reason but I got it off of an Internet video on the camera. I wanted to order a wide-angle lens hood which was recommended for the camera and finally did get one off of E-Bay. The battery life seems just fine too. But I would recommend it to serious, experienced digital camera users only.

First off, like all compacts, there are trade offs made, but this is like a mini camera system! Pros: *Complete manual ability. Not for novice unless they want to learn photography (exposure) *4K video, and 4K photo mode *A viewfinder, EVF, for when sun is harsh *A huge sensor for such a small camera *Fast sharpLeica lens for creamy Bokeh *small enough to be discreet and travel well yet solid and well built *Multiple aspect ratios can be selected before shooting *16 mp micro 4/3rds sensor! Depending on ratio 12.8 mp used * Different creative modes * IA, Intelligent Auto button for when there is no time for setting camera *Outstanding WiFi connectivity CONS *No touch or tilt screen *Manual controls could frustrate novice users *Jpeg Quality not as good for some people *To bulky for some, small but not a pocket camera *All those dials are easy to change by accident *EVF is annoying to some people! * To some, this is to expensive. You could get a DSLR and lenses for the same money A few extra thoughts here. For a user with photography skill that wants a small package that yields professional results, this is a great camera. The Leica lens offers superb optics that take advantage of the large sensors resolution. I like the EVF, but to some it is annoying! The one thing I wish this camera had is a tilt screen, touch screen I can live without, but as much as this camera is setup as a creative tool, I just don’t see why that’s missing! That said, overall this is a great camera. A great travel camera that will yield fantastic results! Read full review

Perfect size to work controls with normal size male hands (I found the Sony RX100iii just too small to manipulate). Better IQ than the 1” Sony sensor too. I shoot a Fuji XT-10 so having the LX100 exposure controls similar to to XT is an advantage. Having a hot shoe allows triggering of off camera flash. Lens is as fast as the RX. The pocketability thing is over rated, as even the RX is an unsightly bulge in a front pocket at dinner, and I prefer to have the camera out and on when on the street. Overall, an excellent solution!
