I bought this JITTERBUG phone for my husband who is 77,extremely deaf, travels alone a lot, won't wear a hearing aide. I couldn't afford a brand new phone that might not work for him,so I bought this phone for $20.00 on EBAY. Phone arrived in excellent condition, on the test run husband could hear loud and clear(yes miracles happen). Called GREATCALL to activate, but they couldn't get it to activate, nothing wrong with the phone itself. They sent me a new preactivated phone, as long as I returned my phone within 7 days with no damage. We are not very technical people,this phone is easy for both of us to operate, it practically does everything itself. The instructions are easy to understand, make sure you read them, buttons are big, as soon as you open the phone you hear a dial tone, you click on your phone book, hit yes on the name you want to call and that's it. Even the camera is easy, just hit the up/down arrow until it says camera, hit yes button, line up your shot which shows on your screen, hit yes and its done. Yes its that easy. The most difficult problem I found with this phone was sliding the back off to view battery/serial number. We have tried other phones, the buttons were too small, weren't loud enough, too many detailed instructions. If you are a senior or just a person who is not tech savvy, this is the easiest phone for you. It has texting 'if you want it'. You choose your plan for only what 'you' need. Its loud, clear, although inside some homes or buildings there may be some interference, you can usually try a different room or area and it will work fine. The most important thing is I got great customer service with GREATCALL. They were patient with me, explained everything slow, clearly, repeated instructions when I needed them to. Now that my husband has his phone and is comfortable with it, I am going to 'upgrade' my 20 yr.old phone to a new JITTERBUG for myself. I would highly recommend the JITTERBUG to seniors, anyone who needs a phone just for 'emergencies' in home or driving, and those who just want a very simple phone to operate. I purchase this for my Mom and myself. We are both not tech savy and had trouble with sending text. The phone itself I am most pleased. The GreatCall company is pleasant to deal with as well. I give them a 5 star . I would like to add we do not use a lot of minutes, and theirs rollover. Win- win. All in all I think this phone is great for the elderly. Oh yeah really like the dial tone. This is a great phone for technically challenged persons. It is designed to assist persons with possible sight or hearing difficulties. Great Call is the only carrier this phone can be used with as the programming is designed to fit the services of their particular network.
