About this product

Product Information

During a bloody battle, two warring ships crash on a barren planet, with only one survivor from each ship. At first, the human pilot and the lizardlike Drac continue to fight, but the planet's harsh climate and the need to survive force them to ally. Over time, they put old hostilities aside and form a friendship. When the parthenogenetic Drac becomes pregnant, the two draw closer, overcoming their external differences to appreciate each other for who--not what--they are. The film is a thinly masked treatise on race relations, handled well by its two lead actors, Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett, Jr. This futuristic sci-fi adventure film, directed by Wolfgang Petersen, features Gossett in an intricate full-body costume for his portrayal of the alien Drac.

I LOVE THIS CASE!!! This came in the mail wrapped with care and in better condition than I thought (the photos don’t do it justice imo). This case honestly looks and feels brand new to me. The shipping speed was normal and worth the wait. The seller made a great impression. They showed a great understanding and were very great at communication. I would buy from them again knowing for sure!

  • SPOILERS AHEAD:

Starts off as any other ok movie, nothing special about it at all, set in the future, set in space. Two enemies by misluck stranded on an uninhabited planet. Well, uninhabited except by themselves and some indigenous flesh-eating somethings. Fast forward to 3 years later and they're now best buddies, converse fluently in the other's language, and discover they apparently share essentially the same faith having the same beliefs "because truth is Truth". I've seen worse films, but then again I've seen far better films. But this film, this film, this film I darn near cried at the ending.

  • Great For Popcorn night!

This movie, despite it's age, is a must-see for sci-fi fans! I had a copy I watched so many times, it wore out. I have 6 grandsons; we decided it was time for a big sleep-over. This movie was a big part of that night, and a total hit! That has to be the first time they didn't talk for a long period of time, and when it was over, of course it was replayed...twice! This is a true treasure, and gave me a good feeling to see my boys love it as much as their mother did when she first saw it. So find a copy, whether it's VHS or DVD, invite family and/or friends, and have plenty of popcorn on hand! (tissues, too-it's a tear-jerker!)

  • This title puts the watcher in the right mind set.

I like this move because it teaches the watcher not to judge a person by rumors. Or maybe that is better said, not to judge a book by it's cover. The main people in this movie start out disliking each other because of what they have been told, but as they are soon stranded on a planet with no one but them, they soon learn that not all that they have been told was true. I found that I liked this movie very much! I didn't find anything I didn't like about this movie. I bought this movie because my husband wanted it. Now that I have seen this movie,I know that I will watch it again and again.
