    Excellent Book for Artists

    Robert Wade is a master of the watercolor medium, and one of the best teachers of watercolor. This book is full of advice and ideas suitable for both the beginner and experienced artist. Especially useful in this book are insights into how to take a photo and turn it into a painting that represents how the artist FEELS about the subject.

    Painting techniques that seem pretty dated by a very good watercolor artist

    While the man is without a doubt , one hell of a painter, the style of colored washes over everything leaves the work sort of bland looking without snap. I'm impressed with the driving point in the two books of his that I own. That being , make the painting YOUR OWN. Make it your painting. Don't attempt to make it just a copy of the scene, whatever it is, change whatever is necessary to enliven the story. Certainly worth having even though his books are hard to find.
