This isn't the end all to be all projector. It isn't even close to one of the best BUT for the money that you will spend to purchase this unit compared to a high end projector.... well let's just say if you had 2K or more to spend on a projector, you wouldn't even be looking at this unit. Now that we got that out of the way, I like this unit very much. It does leave me wanting a little more but I have used this unit for over 7 years and I have NEVER BEEN EMBARRASSED. I use this unit to display video slide shows of photographs that I put onto a dvd for PAYING CLIENTS. I have been in very dark spaces ie... auditoriums with very little light coming in up to gymnasiums with lots of windows. I use a 7X7 foot projector screen and although I personally wish the bulb was a little more powerful, my clients have never once complained. It is I who wish I had a brighter bulb BUT!!!!!! 1) I will not get paid one additional dollar to a) present my videos in HD b) get a more powerful - brighter bulb projector c) the cost of a new, more powerful, HD projector will cost me AT LEAST $2K-$3500 I would have to do so many jobs just to break even that it isn't worth it to me to invest in anything else. (as a footnote, if you do have a specific need for a specific job, on a specific date, just go out and rent a HD projector and bill it into your cost for everything else, this will work just fine). I don't know of any child that wouldn't want to play their video games using this projector. I don't know of any teenager that would complain about watching their movies utilizing this projector. I don't know of any business presentation that wouldn't be a success using this projector. I have seen other people use other "cheaper" projectors and most of the time, it doesn't work out the way they had hoped/planned. This projector DOES ACCEPT rca, svideo and vga signal inputs. IT DOES NOT ACCEPT DVI, HDMI OR FIREWIRE INPUTS. If it did accept those inputs (without changing one single thing on this unit other then accepting DVI, HDMI, &/or Firewire) this unit will cost at least $1,800 or more. This is really a neat light portable projector. The draw back is that you have to be fairly close to the projector screen. The more powerful the bulb, the further back the projector can be from the screen. There are other factors to be considered ie.. the long throw short throw lens, front/rear projector, size of the projector screen, how bright the space that the projection is going to be viewed etc.... For the $$ this is portable, light weight, simple to set up and break down. It has a good bulb life. Parts are still available. IF you take it on an assignment and (please don't do it but) you loose it, break it, someone trips on the cable or spills coffee on it and this unit no longer works, you won't have a heart attack. You'll be mad but you know you can easily replace it with a minimum amount of $$$ out of your pocket. Try saying that with a unit that cost $2,500. If that doesn't scare you then 1) it is not your projector &/or 2) your company is paying for it and not you out of your own pocket. That all being said, I love this little projector. I just recently purchase a second one just in case someone spills coffee on mine. That way I won't have any down time except to go get my second one. Until then it will remain in storage and I didn't break the bank buying it. Hope that this helps someone. Peace and Blessings & good luck with your presentations.Read full review
Good solid performer. Quiet in whisper mode. I bought this for showing movies out doors. It has been a smash hit this summer. Works well with DVD, Blu-ray, and Ipad. My 13 year old son and his friends can set this up and have a movie on the screen while the adults are bringing out the munchies!
It is a great projector. Thanks.
