About this product

Product Information

Greenwich Village coffeehouse manager Clare Cosi is rolling with a popular new trend, until someone close to her is driven to kill... The Village Blend's Muffin Muse coffee truck is all the rage. But a fatal hit-and-run and a shocking death at a food truck-catered wedding give Clare a clue that something bitter is brewing. Then she opens a bag of imported coffee beans and finds ten pounds of rocks--the kind that will earn you a twenty-year jail sentence. Is her ex-husband and business partner smuggling Brazilian crack? Is her staff now in danger? To clear up this murky brew, Clare must sweet-talk two federal agents, dupe a drug kingpin, stake out a Dragon Boat festival, and teach a cocky young undercover cop how to pull the perfect espresso--all while keeping herself and her baristas out of hot water. Coffee. It can get a girl killed.

Reviews
Praise for A BREW TO A KILL : "Coyle is not sitting back with the 11th entry (after Murder by Mocha ) in her popular series.  She has taken the coffeehouse on the road, cleverly incorporating the food truck fad and introducing fresh new characters.  Newcomers to the series can easily pick up the storyline.  A collection of astonishingly varied and drool-inducing recipes is included."- Library Journal "A foodie's delight, packed with information on coffee and desserts, along with appended recipes and a satisfyingly rich mystery."- Kirkus Reviews "Fans of the Coffee House series will savor another serving of Clare's pluck as she deals with her ex-husband, her imperious ex-mother-in-law, and her current beau, a police officer."- Booklist "Coyle... lavishly details an ethnically diverse New York City in her lively 11th coffeehouse mystery featuring Clare Cosi."- Publishers Weekly

Item is complete and 100% as described. Shipping was reasonable and item packaged well and arrived 100% intact though-out the shipping process. My 3 star rating for shipping charges in no way reflects upon the seller (who I would purchase from again) but the involuntary expense involved. I was not involved with communicating with the seller so that also explains my 3 star for communication. It did not apply. I am sure the seller would communicate if it were necessary.

The seller was accurate in the description of may be damaged, have pen, highlight marks, dog eared pages, crinkled here and there. The book was bought for educational purposes and as such will suffice as the content is what was sought, not nessasarly the tattered cover. Book was put in bag and sent 3000 miles so it is difficult to say the shape it was in when it left. Will buy from seller again!! Tracking was incorrect but has NOTHING to do with seller. Helping a charity is helping a community.☺

  • A Brew to a Kill: Another Fresh-Perked Coffeehouse Mystery from Cleo Coyle

What's not to love about a Coffeehouse Mystery wherein the heroine crafts a simile about buying the Brooklyn Bridge on eBay? "A Brew to a a Kill" is the 11th title in Cleo Coyle's well-caffeinated series of Coffeehouse Mysteries. As always, the heroine and narrator is Clare Cosi, manager of the fictitious Village Blend coffeehouse in New York City's Greenwich Village. It may be, as the author's Acknowledgments page calls it, "a light work of amateur sleuth fiction", but like the other entries in this excellent series, "A Brew to a Kill" has a latte more substance than your average cozy. The plot features a dual storyline: On the one hand, we have a mysterlous hit-and-run driver seemingly bent on revenge. On the other hand, Clare's ex-husband -- who also happens to be the Village Blend's ...
