Look I have no reservations in stating the Makita tools are the best designed and best built. I have owned Makita cordless tools for 30 years. The battery technology and power has greatly improved yet the old tools I have still work and I continue to replace the old nicad batteries when I have used them up. BUT these new Lithium batteries are incredible and the new tools are so ergonomic and powerful...don't know how I ever worked without them. I have worked the heck out of my impact driver and it just keeps going. They are my best employees. Good tools aren't cheap and cheap tools aren't good. My two cents, Curt

These batteries do not hold a charge! I tried to cut the bottom of a 36" solid wood door & it took both fully charged batteries to make that cut. Then when you try to charge them, it will show fully charged in about 1 1/2 minutes. I have done carpenter work around 20 years & have used many cordless tools & these definitely will not work.

I have owned Makita tools all my life. I was being pushed into the Milwaukee brand for some time. I went to a big box store and actually tried the Milwaukee impact. It did not feel balanced to me. I tried the new 18V Makita setup WOW! I have used the impact and the drill for one full day. The battery level only went down to 3 from 4. I have been using the lights for that entire time. Same thing. Spectacular. Coming from a 12V setup there was some getting used to but I love these tools. I will never leave the Makita brand. The batteries last a very long time.

I use a Makita Drill/Hammer and it only came with one Battery, also recently purchased a Bluetooth jobsite radio, they both work great and the batteries stay charged for days!!!

Genuine Makita batteries are the only way to go. Sure they cost more but believe me, I’ve tried some of the cheaper alternatives. They are a waste of money. Not only that it’s frustrating having batteries that don’t what they are supposed to do. I have a lot of Makita tools and also have a lot Makita batteries. Don’t waste your time or money on knock offs.
