Gamers play and develop their own comic-book mutant heroes and villains in X-Men: Destiny. Set in the Marvel universe and featuring familiar friends and foes from Professor Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, the game focuses on three original characters -- teenagers whose mutant superpowers are just beginning to manifest. Each playable character has a basic mutant special ability, which players gradually custom-enhance as they earn upgrades throughout the adventure. <br><br>Although the looks and personalities of the super-powered teens are predetermined in the backstory, their destinies are to be decided by the player -- one choice at a time. Players lead their characters through a branching plotline, which ultimately has the young mutant choosing between the X-Men and Magneto's Brotherhood. Set in a future San Francisco, torn apart by a war between mutants and regular humans, the game's story features Cyclops, Wolverine, and several other well-known mutants and monsters from X-Men comics and movies. This game is good when you want to play a game that you're not hard press to complete, just want to kill a little time, or need something for a kid to do while you take care of things around the house. There is no X-Men play in this game, however there's lots of popular mutant cameos and side by side fighting game play. I do like the fact that you have three characters to choose from and you can choose choose to be one of the X-Men or join the Brotherhood.This game is good when you want to play a game that you're not hard press to complete, just want to kill a little time, or need something for a kid to do while you take care of things around the house. 1st off, the transaction was great! Nothing could have been better than the great price and the fast shipping! Well, except it could have been a good game, that would have been nice. I like the XMEN, a lot. If you like the XMEN a lot too, skip this game. The game is centered around a half wit jock kid that gets caught up in a mutant war against the MRD and a setup to look like other mutants. In the process this kid learns he has powers and the game focuses on him dealing with his new abilities. The problem is, you ONLY play as this no name kid. While you do get to interact with known characters, its just short of a meet and greet, who are you, what can you do, how long have you been a mutant, blah blah blah.
