  • Bucks Expectations

The story of Mary Driscoll offers a compelling voice, well-described backgrounds, and the research to back it all up. Some of the books in this series doesn't do well regarding accuracy but not this book. It features what mill life is like, describes its do's and don'ts, and even reveals what happens when a mill worker with long hair doesn't tie her hair up while working with her machine. Well worth the read.

  • SO FAR FROM HOME

The books in this series of books is really good. Gives you an ideal about what things were like in different times through the eyes of young people. I have a young cousin who loves to write in her diary and I thought that this would be very good for her, and she loves them. She said that it gave her some ideas and that she loves reading what others wrote in their diaries, although most of them are fictional characters.
