These are great tumblers!
I own two Lyman autoflow 1200 tumblers for pre cleaning my range brass or polishing brass during the cold Canadian winters where wet tumbling is not practical in my shop. The vortex action is the best of any tumblers that I use and they clean quickly. Parts are readily available and Lyman customer service is second to none! The autoflow feature is really handy and less messy for draining the bowl but takes a little longer than dumping it, but I prefer it! Buy Lyman tumblers with complete confidence. Quality has dropped
The sifter lid is a waste of time and allows dust to flow out of the tumbler into the air. I have an older Lyman 1200 that finally quit, and I much prefer the bowl and lid on it. I don't use the sifter on this unit. I use a homemade separator instead. Lyman has always stood for quality with me, but this unit seems to be very "lightweight" compared to the older unit (at least 35 years old). The older bowl and lid are much heavier and feel sturdier. The older tumbler motor has frozen up and there is no way to work on it or to just replace the motor. Makes it necessary to purchase a whole new tumbler which is the same setup - no way to repair. Things I like, things I don;t like
I think the tumbler does a very good job of cleaning the brass and does it in half the time of my previous tumbler. I dislike the slotted lid, seems very flimsy. There is an extremely long threaded bolt to secure the lid. It needs to be much shorter.
