Inexpensive and works well
The knife works well. It was inexpensive. It does the job "as intended". Cleanup is straightforward; the two blades come out of the knife readily and separate quickly for easy cleaning. The knife is quite satisfactory.

blades are good
We bought this item mainly for the blades to replace our worn out blades on existing knife. For this purpose it's okay. However, the knife body shipped has a very difficult to use safety mechanism which requires constant finger pressure, whereas the old knife body clicks in and out easily with little pressure. Fortunately we're using the old body with the new blades.

Great knife
Over the years I have had several electric knives. This one is my favorite. The blade length works well with my bread slicing guide, the handle fits my hand well (not bulky), is easy to operate (doesn't take tons of force), cleans easily & has a safety lock so you can't mistakenly turn it on when placing the blades on & off. The only downside is that it costs less to buy a whole new knife than to get the blades sharpened. Occasionally, replacement blades can be found separately on eBay. Otherwise it's kind of a waste of a still functioning handle. Overall a great knife for the price.Over the years I have had several electric knives. This one is my favorite. Not supposed to smoke from internal motor
Received 1/19/16 and attempted to use on leftover roast from last evening. Knife started fine and after two slices blades began to slow? I removed knife and looked at body for speed control......knife stopped and smoke poured out of casing. Something internal must have been binding and caused high current draw to burn up motor.

I bought one of these years ago and only used it a couple of times per month. The motor burnt out and I replaced it with this newer model. There is not much that has changed over the years, it does seem to weigh less making it a little easier to handle but all in all the same great dependable knife. The good thing about it is the old blades fit and work perfectly.
