Product Information

The premise of Akuji the Heartless is not a happy one. Just as Akuji, a voodoo shaman, was about to get married, his bride-to-be was kidnapped and he was then killed by his very own brother. His seemingly loving sibling then ripped out his heart and sent Akuji to a dark and evil underworld. Akuji swore revenge on his brother and promised to avenge his true love.<br><br>As Akuji, you must collect the souls of your departed ancestors and give them to Baron Samedi, watcher of the underworld. If you are successful, he will grant your wish of revenge by giving you the opportunity to face your brother and do unto him as he did to you. More importantly, you will be together with your fiancee once again.<br><br>Akuji the Heartless is played from a third person perspective and built on the Gex: Enter the Gecko engine. As you try to make your escape, you will have to fight your way through 30 different voodoo priests and monsters as well as morph into a wide variety of creatures. Each creature has a different purpose and must be used to solve and interact with puzzles. Additionally, Akuji can use regular attacks (nine different combinations with his claw weaponry) and magical spells, such as Shadow's Wrath and Firestorm.<br><br>Also included on the disc are nonplayable movie/demos of two Eidos Interactive titles, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft.

    Akuji better Game than both Demo's Included

    Reviews said this was bought for the demo's but they were almost unplayable or any good. They also didn't look good on Youtube. Akuji shines with a colorful variety of levels, controls good, and makes you want to see what is next. The cheats work + make it even more fun. Looks great with a HDMI converter.

    Crystal Dynamics is known for its intense adventure games, and AKUJI THE HEARTLESS is just that. It offers full combat and 3D action, with nine different hand-to-hand combinations to perform on your enemies. You will battle through 14 different levels, facing over 30 different types of enemies throughout the game. The enemies use an advanced AI that allows for greater variation in the way the enemies behave. You will also have 11 voodoo spells to choose from in your extensive magic system. To make the story come alive, AKUJI features full-motion video and excellent voice acting. AKUJI THE HEARTLESS will have your heart racing and your pulse pounding.

    Good in it's heyday....

    Let's face it, this is an old game. When it came out, it was one of the better ones. First, Cool theme: Coming back from the dead to save the girl, voodoo, all that jazz. Second, Very playable..Pretty easy to beat...very difficult to get all the items. Grphically, It would have been a "4" when it came out...now it'd be about a 2.5...need more poygons, if you know what i'm sayin'. Sound actually is pretty good give it a 3. Overall, if you can pick it up cheap, and you're lookig for some semi-mindless gaming with a cool theme and you don't mind it being a bit retro..Go for it! I actually dug it, but then I played it about 5 years ago..
