I purchased the BBE 882 after having watched ONE other DJ use it at a wedding. This guy got so many compliments on how awesome his sound was...… I thought, 150 bucks, Why not. The moment I connected this MONSTER, THIS IS LIVE SOUND, WITHOUT BEING LIVE ! CD's sound like a concert !!!!!!!!!! HONEST DJ, I run a Numark M6 with twin NDX 500 Players, a Behringer 31 EQ, and twin Mackie M1400's in to twin 15 mains with self powered 18 subs. PLEASE, hook up the BBE 882 after your EQ, play with the LD, which I lock at just above 12 noon. The Process I hold around 1 o'clock, maybe a little farther right..... This thing truly WAKES UP dead CD music !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BBE got this RIGHT !

I was told by one of my sound tech buddies that my system sounded really good but if I want it sound really great, I needed to purchase this processor. I did and when I put it on line I was blown away! The highs are so crisp and the whole range of frequencies blend so well! Great investment for sound improvement. I run a 16 channel Yamaha board with powered JBL 715 mains with 2 powered JBL subs. If you are considering the BBE 882I sonic maximizer, pull the trigger. You won't be sorry!

The BBE 8821 is smart for live PA application. Being that I am not a DJ, I can not speak for that industry but believe it would work well for pre-recorded music. For overall live sound and used last in the chain, this is the way to go for warmth, crispness, and cleaner tonality. It looks sleek in my 19” rack and is an affordable piece of gear. Easy to use and a clear winner. It is important to know that the BBE 8821 is "NOT" a compressor, limiter, or noise gate. I'll try to make this simple: It is basically a unit that works with the electronic tonality that gets lost from the board to the speakers. Think as if you made pancakes and forget to add syrup and butter. It would tase flat… Having said that, this will give a boost in volume, but that is really not the intension here. Best is to go to youtube and watch a view videos that will describe better than I can. Either way, this is a great piece of gear. I use powered speakers and obviously a (non) powered mixer. NOTE: I plug my mixer straight into the BBE 8821, then my speakers into the BBE 8821. Very simple hookup. It is important to power up your mixer and the BBE 8821 before the speakers get turned on. This way you’ll avoid popping a speaker and/or blowing anything via a spike, etc… When you are ready to power down, always shut speakers off first. While I am not a shop owner or salesperson, I have learned that with a unit like this, it is best to buy new as the price is extremely reasonable. Hope I helped.Read full review

I play guitar (hard rock and metal), and before I added the BBE 482i Sonic Maximizer into my amplifier rig, the tone from my amp always sounded "muted and muffled", like a wet blanket was covering the speakers in my cabinet. No matter what I tried to enhance the sound, (pedals, re-wiring the pickups in different configurations, etc.) nothing worked. Then I stumbled across a YouTube video with a BBE 482i being demonstrated with a guitar and amplifier. I WAS STUNNED BY WHAT I WAS HEARING!!. I bought one and the difference is SO huge, its incredible! The BBE 482i turned my amp system into a friggin' monster! After years of playing guitar, I'm finally hearing what my guitar and amp SHOULD and CAN sound like for the first time :). The BB 482i brought out crisp and clear, metal tones and notes, that I've never heard before. The "wet blanket" is finally off my speakers. NOW I know, how the pro guitarists get the tone I've been searching for. I see the BBE 482i in the rack systems of many famous guitarists. I have mine installed towards the end of the signal path: guitar into Tuner, then into distortion pedal, then into equalizer, then into the BBE 482i, then into the MicroVerb4, then into the power amp. If your guitar and amp sound dull and muffled to your ears, wake them up with a BBE 482i Sonic Maximizer. You won't regret that you did.Read full review
