This is a wonderful book authored by Charlton Heston. It starts our describing a pretty rough start as a boy living in the back woods of America and progreses through most of his life. He tells all of this with a combination of wry humor and strong opinions that I think anyone who has only seen a few of is more popular movies will be suprised by. like a lot of people he had his share of hard knocks but unlike most he made no excuses for himself or his actions. Most people now only know him as the former president of the NRA and probably concider him just another gun nut but when you read the parts about how he met and dated his wife and stories about his kids you can't help but be touched. reading this book has made realize what a great Man he was beyond just being an actor and at the same time a little more sad now that he is gone. It also has two sections of photos showing the different phases of his life and Family.Read full review
Charlton Heston was a great man and American patriot ! I greatly admire him. It is an honor to have an autographed book by him as part of my library.

RARE, genuine signature--not the "Chll" secretarial that is now so common. Great that it is not inscribed. I have my own inscribed one-! Thank you.

I am a dyed-in-the-wool Charlton Heston fan. He is not only the greatest actor to ever grace the silver screen, he is a brilliant man. His autobiography is very well written & quite entertaining. Mr. Heston provides insight on several writers & directors of his movies. His modesty is evident as he is his own worst critic. He is an humble man & that comes across in his writing. I highly recommend this book.
Moses tells all! Heston lets his hair down in this intimate memoir! Worth reading! Great guy!
