    Fair radar detector- terrible compass

    I bought this product for the dual purpose of having a compass along with the protection of a radar detector. The radar detector seems to work OK...but is confusing to set up. The compass was a complete failure. I calibrated it several times exactly according to instructions...but it never gave consistent accurate compass bearings. On familiar streets when I knew what direction I was going it...it often gave incorrect readings.....sometimes completely different readings when going the same direction on the same street. And the readings often varied directly when going in a straight line. I looked around for possible objects that could have caused magnetic interference...and could find none. No large metal structures or towers or over head bridges etc. I eventually took it out of ...

    Interesting Radar and easy to use

    The radar works fine and detection is prompt. Its has various detection mode. Allows visual as well as sound alarm. The device is quite easy to get working into.

    Good product overall

    I think the price is pretty reasonable. I like everything about it. the only downside to it is that it can get a little annoying sometimes. It gets a lot of false alarms or just signal triggered by other things. But as far as using it to know when ther's a cop near (which is why I bought it) it's pretty accurate as long as the cop has their radar on. Most cops however drive around with their radar off. In which case the radar will not detect them.

    Cobra XRS 9730

    This unit give a fair amount of warning when it picks up a signal. X band gives false alarm, but you can turn off any band you don't need. For a low price it is a solid unit. It is loud enough to hear clearly and the compass is nice. Its kind of bulky but thats ok. Automute is awsome adjusting the volume level to about 40% after first 2 warnings which is nice. Picks up emergency unit very accurately.

    Cobra XRS 9730

    I like this particular radar is because it is very accurate, and you can set certain bands either on or off. It works better if not the same as any other radar like whistler. They are very affordable and saves you from tickets. It can be difficult to mount on the car but the clear instructions tell you how to mount it better for better accuracy.
