Part of a series
I purchased this book as I needed it to complete a series that I already owned. I really enjoy the Historical Romance genres of books. Takes me back in time to an enjoyable era in time. Mary Balogh is an excellent author and really knows her stuff! Compelling story line with wonderful details.

Fun to read
This story is part of a trilogy, but it's not necessary to have read the others in the series. Historical England with the retired pirate returning to confront the elder, identical twin, rescue the damsel, and stop the rapists. Yes, he's a hero of immaculate character and incredible abilities, but we kind of expect that in romantic novels. The plot falters when the evil twin suddenly turns out not quite so bad and another character becomes the truly evil one. That was a little odd. Also the dialogue and characters seem a little relaxed for the formality of that time period, but even with it's shortcomings, it was a fun read and better than some.This story is part of a trilogy, but it's not necessary to have read the others in the series. The devils Wen is an exciting romantic book.
This is a great book by Mary Balogh. Third in a series about how people coped after the Napoleonic wall. Fast reading and compelling characters and story. I would Recommend!

Baloug writes great books. She intertwines her characters with other characters in other books, so it is best to read them as a series. This one was very good. A tasty, juicy, tale.
