    Simple, reliable media storage

    I bought this 4 Tb drive to replace a West. DIG. My Passport 1 Tb drive that was maxed out. I use them to store all of our digital media which we access over our home entertainment system using DLNA. Our Netgear router does the heavy lifting, and scrolling through folders of movies, videos, photos, and music is quick and easy. Very satisfied. No need for complicated NAS and Plex server.

    Device locked up leaving my files inaccessible on both cloud as well.

    It is neither quiet, fast nor reliable. I had a devil of a time connecting to my iMac, which would not recognize it. Finally, got it going. It backed up my hard drive. THEN, during the next backup session, it froze and would not go to the internet cloud, which, by the way, who needs a cloud if you have an external drive? So there it is, locked up and deader than a doornail, except for its one blue, steady eye denying me to even look at the files that were backed up on it so I can't send it back. In order to protect my sensitive data on it, I shall just take it out in the backyard and smash it to H E double hockey sticks with my two-pound hammer. Goodbye.
