    Nicely made but not necessarily better

    Works exactly as describing and nicely milled and finished. A good idea if one experiences uncentered images with conventional thumbscrews (I didn’t). I thought it would improve camera-switching procedures, but twisting can also start to unscrew flattener and roto-lock itself from scope, ruining focus settings during viewing hours. It sure looks nice and is a pleasure to use, so it does indeed qualify more as a cosmetic enhancement that an improved functionality.

    Lock it and your eyepiece will not wander.

    I Love the RotoLock. I do a lot of visual observing on an Equatorial mount and the eyepiece can end up in any direction, up or down, throughout the night. The rotolock makes sure the eyepiece doesn't fall out. I also have the corresponding 2" rotolock that this adapter fits into. Lock-lock. Nothing moves. Very good quality.
