You could also use the dishwasher for the plates, but you would risk damaging the non stick surface. So, it is best to clean by hand, which is easy. Snap the parts back together and you’re done. Easy to use. However, it does not grill bread or sandwiches well. That is a problem with microwaving bread in general, not the grills fault. So grill the filling the make sandwich on toast!
