This thing is quite a workhorse! We bought it to literally drain a swimming pool and it did it without a problem. We connected a PVC pipe to it and WOW this thing pumps a lot of water and fast! And even better, the pool we emptied was green so it had some clumps of algae and this thing didn't get clogged at all. Very impressive unit for the price. I'd buy it again in a second...

This is a good backup sump pump to connect it to your garden hose during emergencies (like when your main sump pump fails) and push the water out of sump to prevent basement flooding until you get a replacement pump withing a day or two. I have read many good and bad reviews of this product and similar products from other manufacturers. It seems most people leave negative comments about SUMP PUMPS, because they buy these pumps not for the SUMP PUMP use, but for other uses like emptying their pool, or using in their little ponds, or water falls and they are disappointed because it did not meet their unrealistic expectations. Fist of all, ALL SUMP PUMPS are designed for short duty cycles (1-5 Min ON, 3-10 Min OFF). They are suppose to be submersed in water at all times, which allows cooling the motor during OFF cycles. They are mostly oil filled (so do not use them for fish tanks, it may leak oil and kill all your fish) and they are not designed to pump or crush small debris or trash in the water, only small grains of sand from time to time, but nothing larger. So, drain your sump well ONCE a YEAR in DRY SEASON and use a shop vac to clean all debris from the bottom, so it will not clog the motor propeller and catch you off-guard and cause a basement flood. Note: Most home owners insurances do not cover basement flooding due to sump pump failures, and even if they clearly state that they do cover flooding due to sump pump failure, you MUST provide record of proper annual maintenance for your sump pump. I'm pumping water over 10 feet streight up from a well. The pump puts out enough pressure to be able to use a hand held sprinkler.

Held up fine pumping hydrochloric acid bath through geothermal HVAC coil. The bucket of solution became very hot over about one hour due to cooling the pump with a small amount of recirculating water. The pump survived the "acid test" with flying colors.

I have a hot tub and a 18' pool. Every three month the hot tub needs to be drained and new water and chemicals need to be added. With the rains every other day the pool need to be drained off. Home Depot and Lowes both want over a hundred. This pump was a no brainer. Did buy the extended warranty on it. Never hurts for $2.99. Pumps so good you could add a sprinkler on to the hose and water the lawn.. Buy it, you won''t be sorry...

For an inexpensive utility pump, this one is a keeper. My first one lasted about 5 years and I fully expect this one to do the same. I run mine 8-10 hours a day in the summertime to circulate my above ground pool. Well worth taking a look.
