In a time when blood, guts and LOTS of filthy language and acts rule the video game era, there comes a game compilation called LEGO. Whether it be Star Wars or the up-and-coming Indiana Jones (rumor?), parents and kids alike can enjoy these games with a heavy and long sought sigh of relief. At first I really was not sure I was going to enjoy this game due to its oddball playing engine, alas i have found myself thoroughly enjoying these games on both my PSP and Playstation 2!! It helps that it is overflowing with humor and propaganda from the movie series, and the gameplay is just non-stop entertainment, especially due to your ability to change things up by changing into such a wide variety of characters and then going back through levels you had already been in to discover new things with newly opened characters. Somebody was really thinking when they created this one. I do not give it full excellence simply due to it's not as good as some others I have played (games in general), but it is much more entertaining than most without the guilt of playing something full of sinful gestures, language and acts. Now that alone is worth the price of admission. Too bad Hollywood won't jump on this bandwagon and leave the junk behind. I can always hope. Enjoy.Read full review
Concidering this game was made in 2006, it can still be compared to some of the games coming out now. It has good graphics because everyone is a lego and need no fine details. The sound is find and noises relistic. The game has a great sence of lego humor throught the levels. The only problem is that the story play is way to easy. You never have to start over, you just loose lego studs. The bonus play (challenge mode) is way to hard. Most of the challenge or bonus levels could take hours upon hours to finish. The story mode is incredubly realistic to the movies. It is truely like you are in the movie.
Game is fun especially if your a fan of the franchise. I would say its better on the portable because its the same game and you can take it anywhere with you, Crank the sound down and blast storm troopers at your office meetings or casually slice droids with your trusty lightsaber during that math quiz you "forgot" to study for the night before. If you dont allready have this game and think you would enjoy it, do yourself a favor and pickup a cheap copy.
Lego Star Wars II for the PSP is full of action and easy for five and six year olds to use for development of hand-to-eye motor skills coordination. I like the fact that as an educator, this game encourages children in different modalities while futhering their skills acquisition. As a parent, this game keeps my children engaged and they come to me full of descriptions about what they've achieved, which informs me they've developed skills and want to share their excitment about these skills. Buy the game and enjoy seeing for yourself how your child manipulates this PSP game. Better yet, sit side-by-side and join in the fun!
