I had hoped the lamp was as pictured, trying to match one we already have. Indeed it did and it works. My only concern was that it was not packed well enough. A small piece of the base had broken off in shipping. It was only packed in newspaper which had compacted; there was no bubble wrap. The lamp stretched all the way to the end of the box and couldn't take the stress. My husband intends to glue it back on.
