About this product

Product Information

This portrayal of the culminant conflict in the War Between the States takes the form of a turn-based strategy game, played in three-dimensional re-creations of the 1860s Southern Pennsylvania battlefields. Throughout the 16-mission single-player campaign, virtual generals take command of both Union or Confederate forces, and relive famous engagements such as Little Roundtop and Picket's Charge. A number of stand-alone scenarios are available as well, all set in detailed models of the actual Gettysburg landscapes. Multiplayer competition is supported, over a local network or the Internet, or through the game's play-by-e-mail feature.

    great value beginner level wargame

    Althought this game has the Talonsoft brand on it, who were behind massive tactical and operational Battleground series from John Tiller, this game carries none their complexity, but rather is a easier and fun introductory wargame. I suspect it follows just a rock paper scissors format with determining victors but of course factors will tip the balance and so it does require some strategy. The game has campaign and a quick battle generator which you can have battles of all many of size. It plays in the WE GO format and you can zoom right in to view the action, the graphics being quick nice for a wargame, though not at say the Total War like level but still decent. For the low price it can be purchased at, it is worth it for just some quick casual gameplay. Its the type of game that ...

    Civil War Game

    Purchased this game as sort of an education game for the kids...and myself. It has very cool graphics. In particular the ability to zoom in and out of the action. It is very easy to play. The rules are a not that clear at times and take some trial and error, but overall a fun game to play. It is a good history lesson and very entertaining.

    American civil war

    pretty good graphics.....a tough game to learn in the beginning but once you get a handle on it the game becomes pretty interesting.......the battle of gettysburg had a lot of military strategy in it and the game does bring out some of it....overall its a worthwhile game to play !!

    American Civil War Gettysburg PC Game

    I purchased this game for my 14 yr old son. He is very interested in the Civil War and also does reenacting. He loves this game and has spent many hours playing.

    Great Civil War game

    I love Civil War games. This is a good game. I wish they had a game like this for each of the major battles or for a whole war campaign. The game is easy to play and easy to figure out. It is challenging enough for me.
