  • Wow - this is an amazing read!!

I have been impressed with the writing of Fareed Zakaria in Newsweek for many years, but wanted to share that this book provides so much to those interested in the coming decades and what role the US will play in the future. Zakaria has an amazing way of breaking down complex issues for the reader and making them very easy to relate to and understand. Honestly, I wasn't thrilled with his first book, The Future of Freedom, but would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. It's just too bad Zakaria can't be the US President...as his understanding of the world stage and ideas on how to revive the US's image around the world are unprecedented.

  • Amazing insight from Mr. Zakaria!!

Using his broad grasp of complex international subject matter, Mr Zakaria provides both insight and a warnings that all of our political leaders should heed. Mr. Zakaria clearly points out that the time for multi-lateral decision making is clearly upon us and identifies the outcomes if this path is not taken. While clearly pointing to blunders in international policy implemented by various administrations - this is not another exercise in finger pointing. Instead Mr. Zakaria identifies economic, technological and political areas where America can regain some of it's lost standing and respect in these complex and turbulent times. A book that contains strong warnings and hope for America and the world.

  • Great Book!

My book club is reading this book this month. I found it very readable and interesting. The only out-of-date part is that Zakaria talks about the basic strength of the U.S. economy....he obviously wrote this prior to our financial disasters. He is so knowledgable about the world with a view of someone who did not grow up in America but is obviously devoted to her democratic ideals. It's an easy read and I feel much more informed now about "the rise of the rest."

  • The Post-American World

One of the smartest books about our contemporary world that I've read. Unlike so much of the the commentary and opinion today, Zakaria takes a balanced and intelligent look at our changing world. He refrains from the shrill and gives a clear-eyed view of the U.S. and its place in the world, both present and what he sees in the future. More of this kind of commentary would benefit not only policy discussions in the U.S. but in the entire world.

  • The Post-American World (By: TumainiMosha)

Great book. Well written and easy to understand. No kind of anti-Americanism, more of a rise of other countries rather than the fall of America. Goes into good detail and presents data that allows you to decide for yourself. One of the good books I've read.
