Older technology that still does great
Although this is not a screamer of a video card (launched in 2011), it still can fill a need in today's computer market. I was looking for the ability to inexpensively provide dual video capability to a business client's computer and this legacy card has done just that. It can be normally found for a good price, just be sure you get the adapter 'Y' cable with it.

Tested in Lubuntu 16 Linux
This card was installed in a Dell Optiplex 755 system running the Lubuntu 16 (32-bit and 64-bit) Linux distribution. The system started up properly and automatically selected the Nouveau NVidia drivers. The only minor glitch observed was in OpenGL. Even with lighting effects GL_LIGHTING disabled, some lighting effects (pixel colour interpolation, brightness changes during a rotation) remain enabled with GL_FLAT shading, which appear as a blocky patchwork of coloured fragments. It is uncertain if this is due to the NVS 300 card itself, or due to the card drivers.
