    Looks great, natural looking

    it seems to work fine so far, but we have had no freezing weather so far. If it makes it thru the winter and works again next winter I would say its a good value and good product. The last 3 or 4 I have bought from other manufactures, lasted one season and then quit working. So any thing would be a long term improvement. Keep your finger crossed and hope it holds up thru the winter. Water and voltage is two things that don't like each other. I do like the longer 115 vac cord.

    What happens when it gets very cold?

    If your in a climate that dips down to single and negative digits for days, this item will only melt directly under it. The photo is a little misleading with 6" of ice melt around it, maybe that pond is in Kentucky. It's been in my pond for about a week, the last four days it has been frozen in place. But on the flip side if it did have that kind of power to melt ice 6" around it, it would pull a lot more amps. This is a 200 amp model. So far it's done the job, it will be interesting to see what happens at -20 or colder...it's coming.

    Pond Heater

    I love the pond heater and so do the fish! It keeps pond water from freezing solid in those frigid days of winter. Definitely eases my mind that my fish and my pump are in a safe space within the pond.

    Farm Innovators ICE CHASER works great!

    This heater keeps a small hole open in our huge shallow pond of 24" deep. Mostly gold fish left in it, the herons had eaten all my 8" koi before winter set in. I got the 200 watt which works well. Under this heater I have an aeration system which really work in combination with keeping the ice open.

    My Pond Fish Love it More Than I Do!

    This has been one of the coldest winters in awhile. I feared the pond would freeze solid. When I purchased this heater and placed it in the pond the fish gathered around it and the area that had thawed around the disc. I'm not a fish whisperer, but they are more active and they "seem" to be happier. I am very satisfied with this purchase!
