After winning critical acclaim and a larger market share with its previous year's edition, the NHL 2K series returns to the ice for 2006, with a release that comes just prior to the real-life sport's return to play -- following the league's widely bemoaned lock-out hiatus in the 2004-2005 season. NHL 2K6 introduces an "On-the-Fly Coaching" system, designed to allow gamers to give basic strategic commands to their entire line at once. On offence, players may be coached to pinch the defensive formation, or to crash the net when the goalie is having trouble holding on to his rebounds. On defense, the line can be ordered to fall back into tight protection around the goal, or to spread out to try to move the puck out of the zone at almost any cost. Another prominent new game mechanic concerns players filling their roles on the ice. Certain players may be designated as "Enforcers," as noted by a red "E" icon. With enough hard hits and aggressive checks, Enforcers can intimidate players on the opposing team into performing below their normal abilities -- they'll be noted by a blue "I" (for "intimidated") icon. Of course, too many aggressive moves will draw penalties, and leave the Enforcer's team a man down. In addition, a new "ProControl" scheme allows players to focus on passing and puck movement, and the right-stick initiated "Intense Contact Control" (dirty tricks) system from the previous year's game returns. Also returning in NHL 2K6 are fan favorite features such as franchise management, professional presentation, and full representation of all the teams and players of the league, as based on roster status shortly before the game's release.

I use a shipping rate for Canada which is the same price no matter which game you buy. The Nintendo DS game that you bought happens to be extremely light.For 95%+ of the games, the shipping price makes sense.However, some games are heavier and some games are lighter than the average - so there is an aspect of fluctuation that I account for. But you're right about the total price, that's what matters, I also currently have "Best Offer" on - so you can always make an offer to get a better price.

I still love my old PS2 and really wanted this game because the '05-'06 NHL season is my favorite season of all time.

Super hockey game that can be found at a great price
Very good game. Great gameplay, very fun game to buy and jump right in too playing. It has very easy controler functions that you can expand on if you wish with the total control option (R3 button). You don't have to know much about hockey to enjoy this game. The only thing I didn't love about the game is the players seem very small because you are zoomed out so far playing from a top veiw compared to some other hockey games I've played where you seem closer to the ice but some might like this better.Very good game. NHL 2K6 NHL 2K6 is A decent game, but overall not the best!!! I've never been a fan of the 2K series of hockey games. Here's my list of reasons why: - Too easy to score - Gameplay not realistic - Players look like they're floating not skating - Unlockable teams only have numbers on jerseys not actual players - Controls are awkward and hard to get used to - Put in features that most people will find repulsive NHL 2K6 did build on the greatness of the 2K5 dynasty/franchise mode. But I just didn't find this game very fun. It was alright, but the additions to the gameplay I found stupid. Most of the mini-games sucked, and the unlockables suck. A plus side to this game is the multi-player pond hockey mode. Overall, like other 2K NHL games, 2K6 just doesn't do it for me. Final ... NHL 2K6 NHL 2K6 is A decent game, but overall not the best!!! Hard to get dowloads.
I'm not really a hockey fan, but being from Pittsburgh and being we had a #1 lottery pick, I tried it out and I'm hooked! I've never gotten so much from a game for only $20 bucks! Only gripe I have is there are no rookies or updated teams with trades and such and the downloads are taking forever.
