These units can be purchased for a reasonable price. Collectors have not driven the prices of these mid-eighties components up at this point, which means they are a good value for people without large bank accounts. I think the components sound good, not great! However, for the price these can be found I am very happy with the performance. The graphic equalizer helps, especially if your speakers are lacking. I have not had to work on these, so I can't comment on that. The SA-950 amplifier has inputs for tuner, phono, two tape players, cd, and video input that I use for Bluetooth.
Good Little Amp and pretty Powerful!! Heats up pretty fast though...
Bought used and drove 4 ohm (Not supposed to) Warfedale Diamond 7.2 speakers. Thuis amp has good power and really made those woofers extend. Amp runs hot. I cooked eggs on top of it (scrambled). Bad point is the design. Bottom plate on amp cannot be removed meaning it would be a chore to remove and restore this vintage amp. shame on Pioneer for the bad design.
