  • Fascinating insight.

Having been 'alongside' Owen during his Secondary School years as his Rugby/ P.E.teacher I was interested to read his insights into those years. There was a significant impact on the school when pupils like Owen and his brother Charles (there were many others, Walter Amos, Donald Craig, Selvin MacIntosh, Kevin Brown, The Taylor Brothers, Ian and Clive, to name but a few) all Afro-Caribbean lads and all lads with high standards, both moral and personal. Their influence on me and my teaching are remembered with gratitude and pleasure. The early to mid-70's were a time of great change and there were difficult times for all concerned. There were 'shining lights' amongst the pupils and the above mentioned shone brightest.
