    When I worked out that I needed a USB 3.0 Y splitter to power an older 250 Gb 2.5" HDD that I fitted to this caddy, as the supplied cable did not provide sufficient power to the drive to be able to transfer files on to it I was able to use it. I also tried it with a sata 128Gb SSD as they tend to have lower power requirements but it also needed a Y USB 3.0 to USB splitter.

    It works well and I'm happy with the transfer speeds. Physically its a bit bigger than i was expecting, fit and finish around the port isn't the nicest but for the price its fine.

    Super value, easy fitting, as fast as hardware allows.

    The USB-C gives me a more robust connection than on older USB devices, the case is easy to open. The Drive, whether SSD or 'spinning rust' fits snugly and does not move when fitted correctly. The only feature this lacks is enhanced cushioning to improve drop resistance, but adding that would also add serious cost, so this is extremely good value for money.

    The ORICO USB 3.0 External 2.5-inch SATA III Hard Drive Enclosure is a very good one. It's so easy to set up ... open the case [Read the instruction leaflet that's enclosed first as I made the mistake of trying to 'pry' the case apart when it does, in fact, have a simple slide mechanism], place your SATA drive into the case, replace the lid, and plug it into your computer. That's it. It's also a very good competitive price.

    Very pleased with my purchase of the Orico external drive enclosure. I have used similar ones before but this one is much better designed and quick to put the drive into. For the money this is a very good choice
